Tree of Life International Foundation (following, also: “TOLI” or “The Foundation”) is particularly careful and sensitive to privacy protection and to the fundamental rights of individuals and their private sphere.To us your security is as important as ours, and we intended to seriously commit to respect the conduct rules in full compliance with the Swiss Federal Law.

Purpose –Mandatory or optional nature of data providing The purpose of personal data processing is strictly and exclusively related to the statutory purposes of TOLI, namely the distribution of information materials, fundraising and reporting on the activity of support to children in difficult situations around the world. The personal data you provide, when accepting the services requested or collected later on while using the services (personal data, name/company name, address and e-mail address, curriculum, tax code, bank details …) will be used exclusively to provide you with what is required.
Therefore in particular: 1. if you have express your approval and until the revocation of the same, for sending, by post, our paper communications and/or for sending an electronic newsletter2. as a result of your specific and express approval and until the revocation of the same, for sending e-mail messages relating to the selected topics and in any case containing information of awareness campaigns promotion and fundraising of the Foundation;3. for operations of relationship management with donors and partners; Personal data provisionis optional and voluntary; however, a refusal to provide or update such data, in whole or in part, could imply our inability to follow up what was requested and/or inform you of our initiatives. Method of treatmentData collection is carried out as follows: by telephone or electronically or by electronic tools, through cards and coupons or through mailforms available on the site registered under the name of TOLI (the link to the data treatment information is displayed within each individual form).
The data collected will be processed either by paper means or by electronic and IT tools and by any other means made available by technology and technological evolution. The same data will be organized according to logic related to the purposes they are collected for and in accordance with the requirements and security measures specified by the law, for the time strictly necessary to achieve the purposes they were collected for.
Subjects data may be communicated to andfield of their dissemination Data will be processed exclusively within the Foundation by corporate authorities, collaborators and volunteers – as data processors –based on tasks and jobs assigned to them, for the sole purpose of performing the services requested by you.
Data will not be in any way given in, disseminated or transferred to third parties for commercial purposes of any kind and will be subject to appropriate security procedures.They may be disclosed to third parties only if it proves necessary to provide the requested service. As for the latter, these could be the subjects involved:
• consultants and freelancers, regarding communication and fundraising activities;
• banking institutions for the purpose of managing payments and all other banking transactions;
• subjects in charge of security and maintenance of electronic systems;
• company, if in charge, to modify and update the software data may be stored in;
• auditing Business (Solefid SA);
• donors or potential sponsors, in case of data concerning the beneficiaries involved in the Foundation projects, where expressly permitted by the Project Manager, as their guardian.
Therefore data will not be disseminated in any way, unless your explicit approval has been requested and received.
Navigation data and cookies
The IT systems and software procedures used to operate this website obtain in normal operation some personal data on users (IP addresses, connection times, size of download files …). Their transmission is implicit in the use of Internet communication protocols.
These data are used for the sole purpose of obtaining anonymous statistical information on the site use (monthly visits, number of unique visitors …) and to check its correct functioning. But they can also be useful as a service to the user for example when recording data in a session, to avoid a new authentication on a following visit.
This information can also be used to verify responsability in case of IT violation against the website and TOLI.
In this regard the Foundation intends to clarify that the data collected through browsing cookies will be used exclusively for these technical purposes, with the sole purpose of guaranteeing an easier and immediate consultation of the site and its services by the users. They will never be used to create user profiles based on the sections and services used during navigation.
Consultation, modification and cancellation of personal data – rights
We moreover inform you that you can exercise the following rights at any time at legal@treeoflifeinternational.ch (alternatively: at the address in via Balestra 18, 6901 Lugano):
1. confirmation of the existence or not of your personal data and communication in an intelligible form of the same data and their origin, as well as logic and purposes the processing is based on, if performed with electronic means;
2. cancellation, transformation into anonymous form or blocking of data processed in violation of the law;
3. data updating, rectification or, if you are interested, integration;
4. to object, in whole or in part, for lawful reasons, to the processing of your personal data;
5. to take position against the processing of personal data for the purpose of sending advertising material and interactive information communications.
