History and mission 2018-11-23T17:06:34+02:00

Albero della Vita Foundation was born in Assisi in Christmas 1996 from the fire of a fireplace, when a group of women and men, united by a desire for improvement and the search for a higher sense of living, decided to give life to an organization that can make the difference for many children and teenagers in difficult conditions all over the world. In the first years of life, the organization operates by providing protection to minors outside the family, creating shelters and promoting foster care.

In July 2004 the first activities were launched in India and then in Peru thanks to the important contribution of patronage. Between 2008 and 2009 the Foundation has experienced a new phase of development, promoted by the great commitment in the countryside and by many supporters: private individuals, institutions, foundations. Projects are opened in Eastern Europe and in Africa (Kenya and Congo). Since then international projects on all continents are developed according to international cooperation principles and approaches. The activity of research, advocacy and networking is structured to promote positive system changes, between institutional actors and in the sector of private social organizations.
Around 2010 is defined the organisations International growth.

In 2011 Tree of Life International Foundation in Svitzerland was born. An organizational growth aimed at ensuring sustainability, continuity and development for the mission and social projects in favor of disadvantaged children all over the world. Tree of Life International Foundation strives to get a world where every individual can be freely inclined to seek his or her role in the world, to a process of self-education aimed at the continuous improvement of oneself.

Mission

A world where childhood is recognized with dignity and its authentic potential for innovation. Tree of Life International Foundation inspires its vision of man and his possible future to the principles and approaches of “Pedagogy for the Third Millennium” of Patrizio Paoletti Foundation for Development and Communication.
The educational process that “Pedagogy for the Third Millennium” promotes, with a look at the social marginality contexts in which Tree of Life operates, aims to encourage development, growth and evolution in young people: development as a restoration of individual potential. Growth as an achievement of larger and more complex spaces. Evolution as the maturation of those core capacities that can allow the individual to make a contribution to his community of reference and to human development as a whole.

“Every man carries with himself the task of educating. The many encounters he will do in life will offer him the opportunity to express this burden/honor. If he understands and cultivates this commitment, he can direct himself to constantly express his best abilities, manifesting the ambition of be willing to share at all times a vision of ability, possibilities, opportunities and experiencing the exchange between men as a search for excellence, a model towards which to tend where the excellent becomes the norm “.

(P. Paoletti, “Grow up in excellence”)
